Mrs. Joseph ( Norma Lee Fisher ) Corsello, 75, of Morris, Illinois,passed away peacefully, early Wednesday morning, October 3, 2012 in her home, with her loving husband and family by her side. She was born on October 14, 1936 in the home of her parents, Frank C. and Gertrude Ellis Fisher, in Ridge Farm, Illinois. She was the fourth of five children. Norma was raised and educated in rural Vermilion County, Illinois, and graduated from Armstrong High School with the Class of 1954. She graduated from Brokaw School of Nursing in Bloomington, Illinois in 1958. She received her B.S.N. from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1959. While attending Wesleyan, she met the love of her life, Joseph L. Corsello on a blind date. They were married on November 28, 1959 in St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Penfield, Illinois. Together, they raised three children in Morris, Illinois. Norma’s nursing career included OB at the Morris Hospital, teaching at the Grundy Area Vocation Center as the first health occupations instructor, and finally as a home health nurse for Quality Home Health. She enjoyed reading, quilting and baking. She was a charter member of the Pieces of the Heart Quilt Guild and active in Friends of the Morris Area Library, and Moms Cookies. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Morris, Illinois. Surviving is her loving husband of over 52 years, Joseph, and their three children, Holly ( Jack ) Howard and Trudy ( Kim ) DesLauriers of Morris, Illinois, and Carter ( Jackie ) Corsello of Bangkok, Thailand; 5 grandchildren, John ( Anna ) Howard, Joseph Howard, Marc and Jackie DesLauriers, and Luke Corsello; one sister, Marty ( Harold ) Edwards; one brother, Carl ( Audrey ) Fisher. She was preceded by Marianne Bridgeland, and her brother, Robert Fisher. Mrs. Corsello will lie in state on Sunday, October 7, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Church, 516 E. Jackson St., Morris, Illinois, and the family will welcome friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 8, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, with Rev. Edward J. Howe, CR officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Preferred form of remembrance would be memorial gifts in Norma’s memory directed to Immaculate Conception School, Moms Cookies, or Grundy Community Volunteer Hospice. Serving as her pallbearers will be John and Joe Howard, Marc and Jackie DesLauriers, Luke Corsello, Casie Miller, Andrew and Kendal Behrens. Arrangements have been entrusted with U. C.
