Mrs. Virginia M. Lemmer, Galesburg Chapel

95, of Galesburg died 3:12 a.m. Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born December 25, 1916 in Waukegan, Ill. to Rocco and Caroline Schirschmidt Natalie. She married William E. Lemmer, Sr. November 20, 1937 in Waukegan. He preceded her in death September 13, 2005.
Surviving are two sons, William E. (and Angela) Lemmer , Jr. of England and Lance D. (and Paula) Lemmer of Metairie, La., two daughters, Elizabeth Ann (and Rick) Lemmer and Joyce N. Lemmer both of Galesburg, two brothers, Francis C. (and Melva) Natalie of Geneva, Wisc. and James A. (and Donna) Natalie of Sun City West, Arizona, one sister, Eleanor Loeber of Lombard, Ill. six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter Tamara.
Virginia worked as a paralegal for Barash & Stoerzbach in Galesburg for three years. She also did clerical work part time for the Spoon River Center in Galesburg. She graduated from Waukegan High School in 1934 and received her Associates Degree in 1937 from Illinois College of Commerce. She was a member of Grace Church-Anglican in Galesburg and Phi Beta Delta. Virginia enjoyed volunteering for Galesburg American Legion Auxiliary and St. Margaret’s Guild.
Cremation will be accorded. Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Grace Church-Anglican. Father Andy Ainley and Father William Barnds will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial of cremains will be in Grace Church-Anglican Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Grace Church-Anglican or New Horizon.
