Jeffery D. Rowe, 56, of Freeport died Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at his home. Born October 1, 1957 in Rice Lake, WI he was the son of Robert and Diane (Plunz) Rowe. Jeff was a 1976 graduate of Rice Lake High School, 1980 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Platteville, earning his Bachelors in Engineering and 1994 graduate of the University of Illinois where he got his Master’s degree in Engineering. On May 16, 1998 he and Patricia Derr were united in marriage in Forreston. He worked for Honeywell for over 28 years and was a Global Engineer Manager. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Freeport. Jeff enjoyed golfing, driving his 1968 cougar at the race track with his buddy Bill, riding his motorcycle and bowling. He also enjoyed going to the Chicago White Sox games with his wife Patti and rooting for the Green Bay Packers. Surviving are his wife of Freeport, daughters Lindsay (Mitch) Vlaminck of East Peoria, Heather (Joe) Maddalozzo of South Elgin; son Bret Rowe of Loves Park; granddaughter Kate; his parents Bob and Diane; sisters Linda (Mike) Olinger, Laurie (Jim) Peterson; brothers Barry, Dan (Mary) and David Rowe. Preceding him in death were his grandparents. Visitation will be Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 2-3 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Mark Luepke of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial fund has been established in his name for the University of Wisconsin Platteville engineering department.
