Ronald “Tuey” Puckett, 69, of Pana died Friday, October 25, 2013 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 16, 1944 in Pana, IL, the son of Ralph Fredrick & Blanche E. Gildersleeve Puckett. He lived in Pana his entire life except while serving in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was retired from Bridgestone-Firestone. Ron loved watching his grandkids. He was an avid Cub fan and followed the Illini and the Bears. He loved all sports. He had enjoyed playing golf and gardening. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Assumption; United Steel Workers of America; lifetime member of Pana VFW Post #4431; and a member of Pana Elks Lodge; Pana Eagles; and Pana Moose Club. Ronald Puckett and Margaret L. Norris were united in holy matrimony on June 10, 1967 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Assumption. He is survived by his wife Margie Puckett, Pana, IL; their children: Lisa Schmitz & husband William, Keith Puckett, Kevin Puckett & wife Monica, and daughter-in-law: Teresa Puckett, all of Pana; 9 grandchildren: Cody, Quinlen & Chelsea Schmitz; Megan VanHooser, Dylan Puckett & wife Sloan; Logan Puckett; Tyler Stalets, Aubrey & Austin Puckett; 1 great grandchild: Brodey VanHooser; three brothers: Paul Puckett & wife Mary Ann, Pana; Carl Puckett & wife Carolyn, Assumption; Kenny Puckett & wife Jeanne, Decatur; and by his sister: Betty Temmen, Pana. He was preceded in death by his parents Blanche & Ralph Puckett; three sisters: Dorothy LeDuc, Barbara Webb, Helen Eddy; and a brother Charles Ray Puckett in infancy.
