James A. “Jim” Fregeau, age 58, an Aurora, IL resident since 1981, formerly of Naperville, IL, died Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL after a long and courageous battle with leukemia. He was born August 4, 1957 in LaGrange, IL. Beloved husband of Linda (nee Apaceller) Fregeau, whom he married September 19, 1981, loving father of Bryan (Sarah) Fregeau of Chicago, IL and Jenni Fregeau of Dubuque, IA, devoted son of Dolores (the late Richard) Malecha of Plainfield, IL and the late William E. “Bill” Fregeau, dear brother of Lynn Fregeau, Dave (Cathy) Fregeau, Bill (Barb) Fregeau, Tim (Jill) Fregeau, Tiffany (Jack) Kane and an infant brother, the late John Fregeau, fond nephew, uncle, great-uncle and friend to many. Jim will be missed by his puppies, Tank and Carmen. Jim grew up in Naperville, attended Elmwood Elementary School and was a 1975 graduate of Naperville Central High School. He later attended Western Illinois University in Macomb and the College of Advanced Traffic in Chicago. Jim worked in the logistics industry, including JBS Transportation, Inc. in Glendale Heights and Naperville for many years before finding his much loved work home at Cannonball Express Line Inc. in Montgomery, IL. Jim was involved in several social clubs, including the Phoenix Club in Aurora (where he was a board member) and the Aurora Turner Club. He was a member of Annunciation BVM Catholic Church in Aurora, the Knights of Columbus and a longtime, active member of the Moose Lodge, in Naperville, Aurora and Batavia (Lodge #682). Jim was an avid golfer and bowler (both indoor and outdoor). The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Joseph Meschi, Julie Carroll, RN, MSN, OCN and the other extraordinary nurses and medical staff at Rush Copley Medical Center who consistently provided dignified and loving care of Jim and his family.
