Louis Leo Cormier, 89 of Zeigler, Illinois passed away at 5:45 p.m., Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Marion.

Louis was born November 21, 1927 in Hartford, Connecticut to Louis and Irene (Saucier) Cormier.
He is survived by a niece and her husband, Debra and Dave Linke of Norcross, GA; three nephews, Robert and Richard Tardiff and Glenn Duncan all of Atlanta, GA; a sister-in-law, Sally Cormier of Salem, NH and friend and helper, Scott Procise of Zeigler.
His parents; a sister, Christine Duncan and a brother, Richard Cormier preceded him in death.
Mr. Cormier served in the U.S. Army from July of 1946 to January of 1948 with the 101st Air Borne.  He was the former owner/operator of “Louis’ Barber Shop” in Zeigler.
Funeral services for Mr. Cormier will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Vantrease Funeral Home in Zeigler with Brother Denny Bush officiating.  Burial will be at the Zeigler Cemetery with military grave side rites courtesy of the Zeigler and Orient American Legions, the West Frankfort VFW and Marion National Guard Flag Detail.  Visitation will be from 9 to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
