Michael D. Janssen, 33, of Dwight, passed away at 9:49 AM on Monday, February 20, 2017 at his residence.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Dwight United Methodist Church in Dwight, Rev. Lance Leeds will officiate. Private inurnment will take place at Round Grove Cemetery. Memorials in his name may be left to Futures Unlimited. Hager Memorial Home in Dwight is assisting the family with arrangements.
Michael was born on June 13, 1983 in Streator, Illinois a son of Steve and Marcia (Munger) Janssen.
Survivors include his parents of Dwight, one brother; Jason (Shannon) Janssen of Gridley, IL; two nephews: Nathaniel and Nicholas Janssen of Gridley, IL; his grandparents: Dave and Marilyn Munger of Palm Harbor, FL; two uncles: Mark (Judy) Munger of Hubert, NC and Larry Janssen of Carlinville, IL; one aunt: Melanie (Stephen) Miller of Palm Harbor, FL; many cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents George and Katherine Janssen and his great grandparents.
Michael was a member of LCAA. He was active in the special Olympics and enjoyed riding his bike and talking to people, he never met a stranger. Michael was a fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs and watched NASCAR. Michael was currently employed by Futures Unlimited and a former employee of Doc’s Drugs and The Paper in Dwight.
