Anne was born December 27, 1990 in Normal, the daughter of Donald J. Leventhal and Jeanne Marie Justice.
She is survived by her father, Don Leventhal of Normal and her mother, Jeanne Justice of Springfield; five siblings, David (Lisa) Leventhal of Raleigh, NC, Julia Maher of Albany, NY, Sarah Leventhal of Sarasota, FL, Matthew Justice and Michael Hoots, both of Springfield; six nieces and nephews, James, Nathan, Elizabeth, Emily, Abbie and Ian; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Anne attended Unit 5 schools (Hudson, Prairieland), Blooming Grove Academy and Heartland Community College. She was a joyful child and was always adventurous, even more so as an adult. She enjoyed walking and hiking and traveling across the United States, especially Alaska and Utah. She was also a published writer, a very spiritual person and loved the mountains.
Anne was diagnosed in 2014 and successfully battled APL Leukemia. She was grateful to all the doctors, hospital personnel and the Mormon community who helped care for her in Utah and here in Normal. She became a great advocate for Leukemia survivors.
Anne was also a caretaker and helped children as well as senior adults. She was always a positive messenger with her social media posts. Anne enjoyed people and was a beautiful social butterfly.
