  1. Mrs. Willie Lee Hart traced her roots to Sierra Leone. She was a staunch supporter of the humanitarian work Women for Women of Sierra Leone USA carried out in Sierra Leone. She was a 2011 WWSL Award Recipient of WWSL Award–for which she traveled to New York to receive her Award. She was present in Freetown when the replica of the Amistad ship arrived that December–a ship at that time — set sailed from Sierra Leone with many enslaved held against their will — brought to various colonies owned by Britain. She was a woman who kept to her promise. We all in Women for Women of Sierra Leone USA and her extended family in Sierra Leone will miss her.
