Monte Eugene Emmons, 75, of Lewistown, passed away at his home at 9:37 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2018. He was born September 12, 1942, in Havana, IL to Stanley and Ina (Steele) Emmons. He married Marilyn McDonald on October 18, 1986 in Rushville, IL.
Mr. Emmons is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of Lewistown; daughters: Tina (Kurt) Jagielski of San Antonio, TX and Tracy Stone of Divernon, IL; sons: Steve (Michelle) Emmons of Havana and Michael (Jenny) Emmons of Little America, IL; step-sons: Jim Thomas of Lewistown and Rusty Thomas of Havana; fifteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one uncle, Jack Steele of Havana. Also surviving are his two special girls, Samantha Jo and Bobbi Jo Emmons. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gary Emmons.
Mr. Emmons retired as a Boilermaker after over 42 years of service. He loved the outdoors and spent most of his retirement fishing, hunting and working. He loved his daily morning drive to Emiquon.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life and benefit will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at the Goose Pit in Banner, Illinois.
