Wilma Lee “Bitty” McClernon, age 87 of Chatham passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at her home, surrounded by family.
She was born August 3, 1931 in Springfield, the daughter of Lawrence and Lorena White Evoy.
Wilma married Donald E. McClernon on July 7, 1951. He preceded her in death on October 10, 2000.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia (Lou) Kerhlikar; Susan (Dan) Connolly and Barbara (Mike) Hickey; two grandsons, Aaron (Andrea) Shaughnessy and Michael Rechner; one granddaughter, Katie Shaughnessy and one great granddaughter, Zoey Shaughnessy.
She was a 1949 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. She retired from Horace Mann after twenty years of service.
She enjoyed reading, embroidery and camping.
She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Chatham and was a member of the University of Illinois Home Extension Unit.
Visitation: 9-10 am, Saturday, November 10, 2018 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Chatham.
Funeral Mass: 10 am, Saturday, November 10, 2018 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Chatham. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
