WARD, Ronald Apr 5, 1959 – Mar 9, 2019

DANVILLE, Ill. – Ronald E. Ward, 59, of Danville, passed peacefully into his next adventure surrounded by those who loved him at 10:38 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019, at his home. Ron had fought a courageous 2-year battle with Chronic Myelomonoctic Leukemia.
He was born April 5, 1959, in Rantoul, Ill., to Stephen Alfred and Dorothy Robeck Ward.
Ron and Jeanne Darnell were united in marriage June 11, 2000, in Danville.
Jeanne survives as well as his mother, a son, Aaron (Amy) Ward of Alpharetta, Ga.; a daughter, Caitline Wolfe of Danville; two brothers, Timothy (Tonya) Ward of Danville, and Steven (Robin) Ward, of Irving, Texas; brother-in-law Scott McBride of Champaign, Ill.; and a granddaughter, Avery Ward. He was preceded in death by his father, and two sisters, Lori Ann Ward and Rebecca Ann McBride.
Ron’s greatest accomplishment and joy was in always being a great dad. He had been a correctional officer in Danville for 28 years, and enjoyed fishing and walking the dog.
Funeral services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Robison Chapel in Catlin. Dale DeNeal will officiate. Burial will follow in the OakRidge Cemetery in Catlin. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Robison Chapel. The family requests casual attire.
