LeRoy J. Roath, Jr., born December 2, 1926, went home to be with his Savior on February 29, 2020.  LeRoy was born in Lombard, IL, in his family home on Eugenia Street, which was named after his grandmother.

LeRoy attended Lincoln School, where he was a 1940 graduate, and Glenbard High School, graduating in 1944.  He studied at Moody Bible Institute and served in the U.S. Army Air Corp in WWII.

LeRoy used his mechanical talents and spirit of honesty and customer service as owner of Roy’s Auto Repair in Lombard, from 1957-1988.

LeRoy’s helpfulness and leadership have been appreciated by Lombard Bible Church, the Lombard Sr. Men’s Club and at Beacon Hill Retirement Community with the choir, Reader’s Theater and the Sunday Vespers Services.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, Grace and LeRoy Roath, Sr. and his brothers, Marvin (Faye) and Rollin (Dorothy).

He is survived by his beloved wife, Janette nee Eckman, brothers Kenneth (Betty) of Michigan, and Charles (the late Christine) of Colorado and daughters Linda (Bruce) Masopust of Michigan, Cindy (Ken) Cox and Andrea (Ryan) Harris of Wisconsin; 5 grandchildren, Brian Masopust of Michigan, Beth (Eric) Hull of Michigan, Zach (Elspeth) Harris of Chicago, Ethan Harris of Wisconsin, Linnea (Ryan) Geller of Wisconsin; 2 great-grandchildren, Tate and Jordyn Hull; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, from 4-7 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 7, Lying-in-State from 10:30 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Lombard Bible Church, 111 S. Park Avenue, Lombard.  Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery, Elmhurst.
