Frank J. Visla, age 97, Veteran of WWII U.S. Navy, of Lombard, died June 17, 2020 at his home.
Frank was the loving husband of the late Shirlie nee Rogas; loving father of Joy A. Corral of Lombard; grandfather of Kevin (Tara) of Lombard, Andy (Ellen) of Downers Grove and Neal of Chicago; great-grandfather of Avery, Carsyn, and Abraham; dear brother of the late Mike, Ed, and Frances Bugaski; uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Frank was a Veteran, having served in WWII with the Navy and the Marine Corp; he was deployed to Saipan and Okinawa. Frank trained at Camp Lejeune.
Frank retired from the Elmhurst Press where he had worked as a typesetter; he also worked for the Sun Times newspaper and Commerce Clearing House. Frank had lived in Lombard since 1956. He attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Villa Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Frank’s memory may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 Ardmore Avenue, Villa Park, IL 60181, or Wounded Warrior Project, 1111 West 22nd Street, Oak Brook, IL 60523.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 23 with a Visitation from 9 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 1 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Private Interment will follow at Mount Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst.
