Gordon F. Koppang, WWII Vet, age 99, of Lombard, passed away August 10, 2020.
A Private Interment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Gordon was the beloved husband of the late Dorinda; loving father of Carol (Philip) Connoy of Geneva and Paul (Sandra) of Lombard; cherished grandfather of David Koppang of Aurora, Timothy (Diana) Koppang of Westmont and Joshua (Joanna) Koppang of Wheaton; dear great-grandfather of Dylan, Abby, and Miles; preceded in death by 2 sisters, Alice and Dorothy and 1 brother, Walter.
Gordon was a US Army Veteran. He served in the Pacific Theater US Army Field Artillery in the Aleutians.
Gordon grew up in North Dakota. He lived in Lombard since 1974 and was a resident of Lexington Living Center for the past 12 years.
He was married for over 61 years. Gordon retired from General Electric as a Lab Assistant in 1983. He was a former member of L.O.O.M. and V.F.W.
