She graduated from Oklahoma A&M, now Oklahoma State.  She married the love of her life Charles Eugene Chastain on April 2, 1947 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  They settled in Elmhurst in 1957, after living in Oklahoma, Missouri and Hazel Crest, Illinois.  Charles owned his business “High Strength Plastics” and later PTC, a consulting company.  He and Gracie raised their 4 children in a neighborhood on Poplar Avenue that had tons of kids and plenty of adults who would become lifelong friends for her and Charles. They started visiting churches and she and Charles found their forever church home in First Baptist Church of Elmhurst, now City View…
